About Us

Little Faces Going Places is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established on September 1, 2006, in Atlanta, Georgia. Our core purpose is to foster community unity by providing support to kids, youth, teens, and families of diverse backgrounds across the nation, with a primary focus on Georgia through a range of programs and services. We are dedicated to uplifting underprivileged children, youth, teens, single parents, and moderate to low-income families, offering financial, emotional, physical, and spiritual aid.

 

Our efforts cater to youth aged 5 to 17, with occasional programs and special events for children aged 4 and under. By inspiring and empowering the younger generation, we encourage them to enhance various aspects of their lives, striving for excellence and maintaining a prominent lifestyle. We firmly believe in helping individuals and their families achieve their aspirations and dreams.

 

Collaboration is at the heart of our organization's philosophy, and we actively seek partnerships with other like-minded organizations to make a more significant impact globally. Our vision extends beyond Georgia, as we aim to expand our programs, organize charitable events, and extend our outreach to other states and countries, with the goal of nurturing and developing future leaders across the world.

Our Goals

To empower economically disadvantaged families living in poverty, moderate, and low-income housing communities by offering various social learning programs and activities. -Specifically, we focus on those who have faced significant hardships and unfulfilled promises, yet continue to persevere towards excellence, striving to overcome odds and pursue their dreams, so that one day their dreams will become a reality. -We aim to make dreams a reality through comprehensive Education & Leadership, Economic Development, Business & Entrepreneurship, Health & Fitness, Music & Entertainment, Mental Health & Therapy, Sports Training, One-On-One Counseling, Seminars, and Work Ethic Training.

-Our objective is to spark their interest in pursuing scholarships, providing them with tools to become future corporate, global, and community leaders. -We aspire to create a valuable impact in their future, helping them move beyond past hardships and embrace a positive outlook on life. -Our support extends to every aspect of their lives, encouraging them to thrive and become the best version of themselves.

Founder & CEO

Mershon "Star" Wheeler, the visionary behind Little Faces Going Places, Inc. holds the role of Founder/CEO. Born in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, raised & grew up on the South Side College Park, and Riverdale areas. Star's compassionate spirit and passion for helping youth were deeply influenced by her late mother, Jacqueline Neal, affectionately known as Ms. Jay. Growing up in a home where kids were welcome like family, receiving help and care, Star witnessed the impact of giving and kindness.

 

Her upbringing fueled a passion for serving the young, leading her to work with numerous youth and teen charitable organizations throughout her life. Ms. Jay's legacy inspired Star's desire to make a positive impact in the lives of young individuals and families. Embracing the role of a nurturing figure, Ms. Jay  welcomed children into her home as if they were her own siblings, generously providing clothes, furniture, and nourishing meals to those in the neighborhood and beyond. Her home became a safe haven for kids, a place to hang out, enjoy good company, and engage in fun activities.

 

As Star matured, her love for the young blossomed into a calling, leading her to collaborate with numerous youth and teen-focused charitable organizations. At a young age, Star even established her first in-home daycare, laying the foundation for her journey of making a positive difference in the lives of children and families. Driven by her genuine passion for empowering young minds, she pursued a career dedicated to guiding and uplifting youths and teens.

 

Today, as the driving force behind Little Faces Going Places, Inc., Star's unwavering commitment shapes the organization's mission to provide educational opportunities and comprehensive support to underprivileged youth and families from diverse backgrounds. Her love, dedication, commitment and nurturing spirit inspire hope, making a lasting impact on the lives of children and families, while paving the way for a brighter future for all generations to come.
